After yesterday's interview here on Disruptive is probably no one in any doubt about what Peter and I like blogs. The random so that I also had a dialogue via e-mail and conversation with a friend who tries to earn some money by promoting products online. I have tried to convince him to start a very niche blog. This post is dedicated to you H! I also want to warn your readers about this post. It is quite long then take a turn to the cafe machine before you sit down. Also, make sure you sit comfortably reclined. Enjoy!

Subject commercial blogging, especially if it is your first commercial project, for a few basic rules that I think you have to follow: pengar.jpg

1. You have your niche. Nevertheless, the wallet, the higher the degree of niche ning!

2nd You must choose something you have a connection with or that you have that interest. Write 5-10 blogs a week and a lot of other things, requires commitment. Then they will not make it worse for themselves by choosing a topic that might seem more worthwhile, but it has zero commitment. This is not a sprint, it's a marathon.

3rd As the first project will not make it too difficult for themselves. It is the second project to pull in the real steel beasts! It is better to choose something relatively small and specialized with moderate goals. It's a bit like the boats, small boats, small problems, big boats, big problems. This is just the dress rehearsal for a major project with much higher earning potential.

4th I like wordpress!

My friend lives in Brussels to 80% and like Belgium. If I were H, I would start a blog that deals with Belgium and Brussels, focusing on travel and tourism in Brussels. Of just the three reasons above. It is specialized, H has strong ties to Belgium where he spends 80% of their time there. H also likes the good life, something which Brussels is famous for. It is a project that requires approximately 3 hours a day, it's not a big project.

To this commercial blog to succeed, two things which we shall discuss below. Revenues (clients) and traffic acquisition.

Traffic:

Traffic will reach 90% by search engines. There will be a small "tribe" of individuals who would like H's personal style of writing about Brussels, lives down there and what can be done but it is not the tribe that will embarrass the cash without the constant flow of people seeking information about Belgium. To these people must find the blog have to learn a bit about SEO. Not much but you have to grasp the basics. These we will review below:

SEO for your blog:

1. Keywordanalys. I usually use a tool like Google is in fact their "Traffic Estimator". It is a tool that Google offers to show advertisers how much traffic they can expect on a word that you chose to buy the top spot for. It is by no means a perfect tool, but it is good enough to get an idea of what words are most important in a particular niche. One should not put so much emphasis on the nominal figures, but only use them to rank the words. Not unexpectedly, our reaserch indicates that the word "Brussels" is the key word.

To sit and guess words are difficult. Better is to undermine the already found a great example Brussels-related concepts. Check out their keyword, their description and the words that seem interesting on that particular page. Check out since the other words that could be interesting. Rank then all the words so you have an eye on what appears to be the most important.

2nd Naming: The SEO is the URL is important because when for example looking at the word "Brussels", the domains in which this word is a higher relevance (according to Google) and therefore easier to hit high in the search engine. Would be appropriate to take from this perspective www.bryssel.se. Not surprisingly, this account. One should then choose a name which includes the word Brussels. You must also choose a name that is easy to remember. Then you can reach a certain brand power, and visitors found the page useful may be easier to remember the name and return with other issues related to the topic. I also think it may actually be in order to buy a domain owned by someone else. When this is the way they are no specialized command high prices, a few hundred dollars is reasonable to pay. It is well worth money do you save time later in the project.

3rd Metadata for the blog. Some quick ground rules:

* In the title, the two main keywordsen appear. Are you clever you may be able to get three keywords. I also think it is important that the name of the blog +. See included. It is my belief that this movement has a noticeable effect construction.

* Description. There is a simple basic rule, an issue that should be answered based on the visitor's perspective. That question is "Whats in it for me?" Anyone searching Google wanted to know the benefits of clicking on that particular link. The fact is that good description can make the runner-up gets more traffic than number one when searching for a word. Important are also here to get their most important keywords.

Now we have reached the point where the blog is posted, and we know little about how the search is made. Now begins the next phase, the production of content and link acquisition. This is the temporal part of the tongue consists of two time-consuming elements that interact with each other, namely the creation of content and link acquisition.

Contents:

It is content that generates traffic. The content is therefore your most important marketing tool. There are the thoughts I harinnehall.jpg around the content of this blog is:

1. It must have a personal touch. The reason for choosing this is that in fact no trust funds or authority. Do you personally receive the entire course, the blog visitors do not a relationship with the blog but with the man behind. It is much easier to have a relationship with a man than a website and people may be more confidence.

2nd You must write useful content that answers questions. This could be interesting tourist attractions, which are must to visit, what to avoid. You write about how much a taxi from the airport costs, if you give tips. How do I set about getting a cell phone, rent an apartment, etc., etc..

3rd You must have a copy that makes you more likely to be perceived as an authority. Take a stand, do not use words like "perhaps" for example, is either the best or not. Enter not the way that you create new issues for the reader. You must answer his questions so he feels comfortable. You must also be fairly detailed. Do you write for example a restaurant, make sure you give instructions on how to best get there, what dish they are good at, if you need to book a table, etc..

4th Use images in blog posts or logos. You use both your own photos and images from the web / archives. When tex is in a restaurant, take a picture where you shake hands with the butler and his name appears in the picture.

5th You post at least one post a day, six days a week. Saturday is a good example bloggfri day. Make sure you have a bunch of pre-written messages on a high!

6th The long fuzzy tail! Most of your posts will end up in what is called the long tail. Words that have few but very relevant searches. It is therefore important that you rename your post (The URL and title) from eg names, places, things. Then it is very likely that you hit number one on these posts. See also above for how to manage the metadata for each post.

7th At least one post a week should be a so-called "authoritative messages" ie it's really good quality content. Maybe you have interviewed a local matprofil about what he thinks are good restaurants, a museum curator on what to see, or perhaps a Swedish parliamentarian who lives in Brussels and they can tell us about life there. It may also be a post about how you are doing to get really cheap airline tickets to Brussels.

Link Acquisition:

Link This acquisition is also a time consuming aktivititet but it also leaves the field open to your creativity. You can not rely on the mere fact that your quality content drives links. As a rule of thumb arise only 20% of the links quite naturally, the rest come to you asking for it or because there are other incentives for linking than just the content itself. At least one hour per day will be reserved for link acquisition and the case is in my expression "A link a day is good for the stomach. Link Acquisition is a subject that is written billions of words on the net. Below you will find some of my easiest ideas, experiences and suggestions.

1. Get an online presence, this means that you are online a lot and interact with people in the digital plane. I do not mean that you sit and sends meddelenaden on facebook. Join the topic relevant forums and was active there. Write comment and discuss with other bloggers. Sign in for example Pusha and use it. Attending meetings of people with "onlince Presence" decorations. Be social, open and pleasant. Get involved in the ongoing dialogue. Building special relationships with individuals / companies who are active in your segment.

2nd Be generous / helpful if you're not there already. Did you find it hard to be generous, practice or fake! On the Web, this is a very successful strategy, probably more successful than in reality.

3rd Much links are in everyday life. If you eg reviewing a restaurant, ask for a link from their website to review, even if it is in Swedish

4th Use the support pages! Parallel to that, you build up your business blog, you build one or several support pages. These are pages or blogs that are a bit wider, but with decent content. These support pages are used for trevägslänkning, ie when contacting others so you may want to get a link to them on your main page but for various reasons, will not you give a link back. Then use your support page to link from. A detailed tip here is to ensure that they are operating on different servers, your support page and your commercial side.

5th Write quality content for others to have links in return. There are probably quite a few travel sites out there that would like to have quality content on Brussels and Belgium. Write and get links in return. A parenthesis here is that once you reach a little authority status will certainly travel magazines and other media players to listen to themselves and you will surely get to do some reportage paid for them. It is a manifestation of that others perceive you as an authority.

Last but most definitely we need to talk money! How they pull in the dough? This blog business case is affiliate marketing. This means that most of the cash comes from hotel and travel reservations. There are quite a profitable segment.

There are three segments, which I think is interesting to work actively with, travel, hotels and rental cars. It could perhaps be supplemented with various programs that rent apartments or local Belgian program but it is my opinion that it is the first three, which accounts for 80-90% of revenues. Viewing it on Tradedoubler is a transaction for hotels worth about 100-150 seconds, the flight a bit more, and a rental car is worth about as much as a flight. The service will be of high quality and converting. You reach the first places for the 5 main keywordsen has certainly 8-10000 unique visitors a month. Conversion rate if we count low, 1%. It provides a revenue potential of 10-15000 seconds per month.

One thing that must be commented on here is how to convert traffic. It uses no ads! The reason for this is threefold. The visitors will not click on your ads and you do not want to build other companies' trademarks without getting paid for it. Many visitors also perceive your blog as more serious if you do not have as much ads How do you instead, you create a page (not blog post) for each segment. For flight renamed dentex. to / flight brussels in URL.en. These pages are the heart of your blog. There are those you make relevant inter-linking to. There are those you work with external links to. The content of these pages are charts. This can be a top list as follows koncep: Best airline to Brussels. Where you preview each airline and then links you to their relevant landing page. It provides conversion and transactions.

This was my 50 cents into the ongoing debate on how to make money on his blog. I want to emphasize that this is not the only way. There are more and I can certainly reason to come back to them. This is my advice to H ;-)

This was probably my longest post ever and I want you readers, if you have any questions about this way to make money on his blog, write them in comment boxes, and I will take me time to answer them.

Good luck H!
